Assistant Clerk
Ewhurst Parish Council is seeking a part-time Assistant Clerk to join our team. This position is ideal for someone looking to ease back into work, starting with an initial commitment of 6 hours per eek, with the opportunity to increase hours and responsibilities over time. The ultimate aim is for the successful candidate to transition into the role of Parish Clerk.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Ideally, applicants will live within the parish.
- Flexibility to attend occasional evening meetings.
- Strong organisational and communication skills are essential.
- Basic IT skills, such as using email and word processing, are required. Training on any online council systems will be provided.
- Willingness to undertake accredited training relevant to the role, at the Council’s expense.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently from home.
- Attention to detail is important for managing council documents and financial records.
- Previous experience in local government or council work is a plus, but training will be provided.
- Access to own transport is desirable for occasional village-based tasks.
The role is primarily home-based, and a laptop will be provided for work purposes.
